The Zenith Cairelli is the legendary and extremely rare pilot’s chronograph of the Italian Air Force and is presented here in unworn condition. Absolutely collectible and extremely rare.

These chronographs were delivered to the military via the intermediary A. Cairelli in Rome, whose signature “A. Cairelli Roma” is engraved on the case back. This is one of the approximately 500 watches that were sold for civilian use – like the watch shown here. The civilian version can be recognized by the engraving on the case back: “Chronometro Tipo CP-2 A.Cairelli – Roma”. The military version also bears the engraving “A.M.I.” (Aeronautica Militare Italiana).

The excellent condition of this Zenith Cairelli makes it a first-class collector’s watch. The case is sharp and unpolished, the black dial is immaculate. The black rotating bezel is also in very good condition. The original crown is marked with the NATO star. The hands and dial are perfectly preserved, as is the tritium luminous material on the dial and hands, which shows no signs of damage and has acquired a wonderful vintage color over time.
The Zenith caliber 146 DP is also untouched, but runs perfectly and is flawless in all functions
